About That Jerry Boyd
It has been said of the cartoon drawings and collages of Jerry Boyd that he has 'an interesting world view.' (Although the jury is still out regarding which world we’d be talking about.) Jerry has always created with the simple desire to amuse himself. If his work happens to amuse you, even better!

Jerry Thomas Boyd earned a BS degree in Art Education from Indiana University, Bloomington. He has tried to keep his creative hand going in various venues: graphic design for a theater company in Washington, DC, a self-published line of postcards and note cards, unsuccessful attempts at selling his cartoons to the New Yorker (and one fluke sale to the National Lampoon), art director for “Out for Laughs”, a TV pilot of gay sketch comedy and a small collection of his cartoons called The Portable Smile. So he’s no stranger to the heartbreak of being an artist in a culture that doesn’t enthusiastically support the arts. All of his creative endeavors have never earned him more than lunch money. He long ago lost his naïveté about being financially successful from his art. Over the years he has been forced to admit that marketing is not his strong suit.
Shift Happens is Jerry Thomas Boyd’s first novel. It started as a short story in a writing class back in San Francisco in 1995. He took the best literary advice and chose to ‘write what he knew’. However he denies ever being aboard a UFO. He knows as a writer he is merely a dilettante. This doesn’t bother him. He only wanted to tell an entertaining tale from a metaphysical perspective. Jerry is currently at work on his next unique tale - Marooned On Margo. He lives in his home state of Indiana where he is unlawfully married to a man and happier than he’s ever been in his life.
